SONS under-19s contributed to a five-goal thriller at the Vale of Leven Academy today, but found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.
Colin Nish’s charges went behind to a 24th minute penalty and despite some heavy pressure couldn’t get beack on level terms before the break.
The Binos doubled their lead early in the second period before a McKenna penalty for Sons put the home team back into the game.
With 15mins remaining, another penalty, the game’s third, was awarded to Stirling and their two-goal advantage was restored.
With full-time approaching Biddulph gave Dumbarton hope of salvaging a point with a good finish and even with 5 mins of stoppage time, the young Sons couldn’t find their way past a strong Albion defence.
Final score 3-2 Stirling.
