TURNER BAN CONFIRMED

Wednesday 5th September 2012

THE club today received confirmation that new signing Chris Turner can’t turn out for the Sons in the SFL until the trip to Livingston at the end of this month.

Manager Alan Adamson had been hoping that the 3-game ban imposed on the midfielder from a recent sending off during his time with Shamrock Rovers wouldn’t affect playing for the first team in league matches.

But the gaffer explained today that the period of suspension will mean the up and coming matches against Dunfermline Athletic and Hamilton Accies will have Turner sitting in the stands having already sat out the Morton game.

He said : “Secretary David Prophet has now got the news we had hoped we wouldn’t get and Chris will miss the next two home league matches.

“He can though play in reserve matches and we have it confirmed that he will be eligible to play in this weekend’s Stirlingshire Cup game against Stirling Albion.

“And with the reserve league starting next Tuesday (11th), it’s likely that Chris will feature in those games.”
