DUMBARTON’S leading house builder has chosen to match its own success with that of Dumbarton FC in becoming the Championship football club’s new kit sponsors for the forthcoming 2016/17 season.
Turnberry are a company with a long and proud association with Dumbarton, having built hundreds of homes for people in and around the town over the past 20 years.
There’s also a personal link. Turnberry company director Elaine Mooney explained: “My family are from Dumbarton and I started school there.
“I was actually married at Dumbarton Castle, which now overlooks the football club’s stadium, and I am delighted to call Dumbarton my home town.”
Elaine added: “Like us, Dumbarton FC aims to benefit our community. We are delighted to support a local, ambitious team competing in the upper echelons of the Scottish game.”
Dumbarton FC’s chairman, Alan Jardine, welcomed the new partnership on behalf of the club.
He said: “We are very pleased to have this new sponsorship from an important, well-regarded local firm. We look forward to a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with Turnberry Homes into the future.”
Sons new playing kit will be unveiled at tonight’s pre-season friendly with Dundee.
