Scott Tomlinson has returned to Dumbarton, after agreeing a permanent deal at The Rock – sponsored by Marbill Coaches, subject to SFA approval.
The jet-heeled winger became a fans’ favourite during a loan spell from Ayr United last season and is now back in G82 as a Dumbarton player for the first time, having left Ayr United over the summer.
After rising through the ranks at Somerset Park, Turbo spent time on loan at Stenhousemuir – before making the move to The Rock last summer on a season-long deal.
He’d go on to become an ever-present in the side, making 43 appearances, scoring three times and finishing the campaign as the club’s leading creator with eight assists.
Now he’ll be a Sons player again in 2026/27 after signing a season long deal, with boss Frank McKeown delighted to be working with the 20-year-old again.
He said: “Scott made a huge impression last season and I know that fans will be as pleased as I am that we’ve managed to bring him to the club on a permanent basis.
“His pace and physicality are a huge asset to any team, and you could see week-on-week how he was growing as a player.”
“With that experience under his belt, and in an environment that he enjoyed being part of, I’m excited to see Scott continue his development as a Dumbarton player.
“There was strong interest in Scott which is why it’s taken some time to get this deal done, however now that it’s been agreed I’m sure he’ll be a major asset for us this season and we’re all looking forward to working with him again.”
