AFTER an all-action last few days making changes to the squad, Dumbarton return to action tomorrow with a visit to East Fife.
It was a deflating January on the pitch, with Sons losing three out of three in all competitions and awaiting their first goal of 2020.
But after the business that has been done off the pitch this week, optimism is high that things can turn at New Bayview.
Manager Jim Duffy said: “After the last few days we are glad to be returning to football tomorrow and looking forward to facing East Fife.
“Last week at Peterhead was disappointing after the fight we put up at Aberdeen, and we must address that.
“The additions we have made to the squad are all positive ones, and we are confident they will all be an asset between now and the end of the season.
“If we apply ourselves correctly, avoid mistakes and punish errors by our opponents, this is a game we can win.”
Having won four out of four against East Fife last season Dumbarton are yet to beat them in this campaign.
But with Jai Quitongo and Robert Jones in contention for debuts, and Ross Forbes set for his fourth debut (his third as a signed player) options are plenty.
Isaac Layne is once again the only player definitely out tomorrow. Kyle Hutton has been training this week and will be given every chance after missing the Peterhead match.
Gavin Duncan referees Sons for the second time in the space of a fortnight tomorrow, and will be assisted by Joseph Lawson and Michael MacDermid.
The Sons Supporters Trust travel section bus leaves Church Street at noon. Seats cost £12 for trust members and £15 for non-members.
Some seats are still available and can be booked by contacting Tommy Hughes on 07710 771341 or emailing memsecy@sonstrust.net.
