TRANSFER WINDOW: GAFFER WORKING HARD

Friday 23rd December 2016

SONS boss Stevie Aitken has stressed that the up and coming transfer window will be important as he considers all options to enhance his squad.

Traditionally it’s a difficult time to make big signings and speculation has started already, with players on loan at the CID Stadium in focus.

The manager said : “We have two players whose loan deals end in January and we are hopeful of keeping both.

“Talks are ongoing, but ultimately it’s down to the parent clubs as to what happens.

“We are looking to strengthen in certain areas and we’ve had players train with us in the last few weeks, but nothing can be done until the window actually opens.

“Inevitably there will be comings and goings, that’s the nature of the window.”

Stevie wouldn’t be drawn on specific player situations but confirmed that the squad is needing additions.

“We’ll do what we can and we are in a positive position at the moment, so that makes us attractive to possible additions.”

Sons head to Somerset Park tomorrow to play Ayr United, kick-off 12.30pm. (Preview here)

Dundee United are guests at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium on Hogmanay and this game has a 1.30pm kick-off time.
