Tuesday 30th March 2021
DUMBARTON are back in action tonight in the second of seven games within a fortnight, facing a tough test away to league leaders Falkirk.
With games on Tuesday and Thursday for the next two weeks, the relentless nature of the schedule is about to really kick in.
And it could hardly be a more challenging assignment this evening, away to a Bairns side who have convincingly won at Dumbarton twice already this season.
Sons, though, have an opportunity to bounce back from Saturday’s reverse to Peterhead, and manager Jim Duffy is looking for them to take it.
He said: “Saturday was of course a very disappointing result, even more so given that after going behind, we didn’t really threaten to equalise over the remaining half hour.
“We know how difficult it will be tonight. Falkirk are clear at the top of the table and are absolutely determined that they will finish the season there.
“However, our players will remain committed and hardworking and as long as that remains the case, we will give ourselves a chance.
“With the schedule we have coming up, we will have to rotate the squad in some areas, and every player has an important job during the run-in.”
Once again, Joshua Bradley-Hurst and Daniel Church are the only definite absentees tonight, with Rico Quitongo facing a fitness test to see if he makes it.
With the game being played behind closed doors, the game is streamed live via Falkirk TV and details are as per our previous story.
Referee Steven Kirkland is in charge tonight and will have assistance from Craig Ferguson and Andrew Bryson.
Kick-off tonight is at 7.45pm.
