THIS weekend’s Ladbrokes Championship match at Palmerston is a challenging game for both the Doonhamers and the Sons.
After securing a vital point in last week’s pulsating encounter with Falkirk, Dumbarton will be looking to build on that result and the encouraging performance that produced it.
By contrast, Queen of the South suffered a midweek 3-2 loss away to Morton, denting their hopes of a top-four finish as the league enters the final stages.
John Beaton is the man chosen by the SFA to officiate the game. It will be John’s third game in season 2015/2016 involving Dumbarton, with the previous two matches being wins against St Mirren. Mr Beaton will be assisted by Graham McNellie and Calum Scott.
“We are looking forward to the game at Dumfries and we all know that, again, it’s going to be a tough task against a good full-time team,” said Sons boss Stevie Aitken.
Dumbarton are without Mark Docherty (suspension), Jon Routledge (suspension), but Grant Gallagher (knee, pictured) is fit again and available for selection.
