Dumbarton Football Club are delighted to welcome Tony Wallace back to The Rock on a one-year-deal as boss Stevie Farrell continues his preparations for the new season.
The wide midfielder joins from recently promoted Annan Athletic, who defeated Dumbarton in the semi-finals of the cinch League One play-off before triumphing against Clyde in the final.
The 32-year-old, who is a three time Scotland under-19 cap, came through the ranks at the Sons and burst onto the scene in the 2011/12 season with three goals in four play-off games as Dumbarton were promoted to the First Division.
That earned him a move to Morton where he appeared 45 times for the Cappielow side before spending time on loan at Queen’s Park.
The local lad has also represented BSC Glasgow, Nairn County, East Fife, East Kilbride, Annan Athletic and Clyde in his career before returning to the Galabankies for a second term in March 2021.
In the 2022/23 campaign, Wallace netted six times for Annan – including one against Sons in April.
Speaking after securing his second signature of the day, Farrell told the clubs website: “Tony is someone we have had our eye on for a while and we are really pleased to get him through the door.
“He had a positive impact on the club during his first spell here and we are confident he can repeat that.
“With nearly 300 appearances he has plenty of experience and clearly knows where the net is as well, as we found out all too well last season.”
