TIDY SUM RAISED FOR CHAS

Sunday 23rd April 2017

SONS supporters dug deep to help raise money for the club’s nominated charity in the last two weeks, with £380 collected for CHAS in our unique prize draw.

Manager Stevie Aitken and kit co-ordinator Colm McKinley hatched an idea to garner funds for Robin House at Balloch where the winner of a raffle would get a terrific day out with DFC as match assistant to Colm.

Colm said: “The gaffer and I thought this would be a unique offering and we then contacted the Sonstrust to help sell the tickets.

“The response has been terrific and the sum of money raised is fantastic.”

Tommy Hughes, who along with Denise Currie co-ordinated the sales on the club’s behalf, was on hand yesterday pre-match at Palmerston with Stevie and Colm to make the draw.

He said: “We’ve had a great response from fans and I can announce that the winner of what will be a cracking experience with Colm this week is Ian Stormonth.

“Ian has been contacted and will be joining up with Colm on Saturday.”
