We are thrilled to confirm that Cameron Clark, Tony Wallace and Ryan Blair have signed new contracts with the club ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The trio made a combined 99 appearances for the Sons across the 2024/25 season and have now committed for a further year at the Rock.
Clark joined the club last summer from Stirling Albion, where he won the League Two title in 2023, following stints with Queen’s Park and Annan Athletic at the same level and his experience of the league will be invaluable this campaign.
Speaking about his decision to remain at the Rock, Clark complimented the group that had agreed to resign with him and stated that as his main reason for staying.
He said: “I’m happy to be back, we have good quality players staying that I know well and I’ve been happy here from the start and delighted to be staying.
“I don’t want to make any predictions but I know the gaffer has signed some good players so we’ll just get to work and see where it takes us.”
Blair joined the Sons from East Fife back in 2022 and is the clubs second longest serving player after agreeing to renew his deal.
Ryan has spent time with then English Premier League side Swansea, as well as having experience in the Scottish Championship with both Falkirk and Dunfermline and will be a valuable asset as the Sons look to have a strong campaign back in League Two.
Blair said: “I’m looking forward to getting back to it, I’ve really enjoyed my last three years here and it was an easy decision to stay.
“The aim is promotion, it might be difficult, but we need to aim high and give it our best shot.”
Rounding of our trio is fan-favourite local boy Tony Wallace. A product of the youth development system here at the Rock, Tony made his debut as a teenager back in 2010, helping the side gain promotion to the second tier during his first spell before departing for Morton in 2012.
Tony competed across all levels in Scotland throughout the next decade before resigning for the Sons from Annan back in 2023 and with over 140 appearances and almost 50 goals in League Two, will be a valuable threat from the wide areas this year for the club.
Upon resigning Tony said: “I’m happy to get it done, it comes back around quite quick and I’m just looking forward to getting back to it for another year.
“I’ve loved my time here over the past two years, this is where I started my career and I love it here, it was a no brainer for me to stay.
“Last year was a bit of a write off, but we want another season like my first one back and to get promotion and that’s what we’re aiming for.”
Speaking about getting the boys resigned, manager Stevie Farrell spoke of the need to keep players with their experience around the place.
He said:” That’s three experienced players and I think when you’re having a bit of a rebuild with any squad, it’s important that you have that continuity experience.
“I’ve worked with the three guys and I’m delighted each of them are back on board. They’ve all got different characteristics in what they bring to the pitch, they’ve all got similar characteristics in what they bring to the dressing room, so it’s a bit of experience and their knowledge and their professionalism.”
