THANKS TO TOMMY – AND WELCOME GILLIE AND JACK!

Thursday 12th August 2021

AFTER 15 years, and bus journeys all over Scotland, Tommy Hughes has hung up his clipboard as Sons Supporters Trust travel convener.

The club extends sincere thanks to Tommy for all his efforts in organising the fans’ transport over the years. He has ensured that during those 15 years, our away support has had easy access to transport to our away fixtures.

The away support we have had has helped us achieve so much during that time, including two promotions, one of them as Third Division champions.

Tommy will continue to assist the club in various ways, including as part of our matchday photography staff. You’ve done a marvellous job with the buses Tommy – thank you.

Fortunately, we have a couple of willing volunteers to run the buses going forward – and they are two other familiar faces among our support.

Gillie and Jack Brough have volunteered to keep the buses running, and they do so also with our thanks.

As Saturday’s game with Queen’s Park is not too far away in terms of geography or date, there will be no bus to that fixture.

However, there are plans to run a bus to our next away fixture after that, at Montrose on Saturday, August 28.

Please contact Gillie on Facebook Messenger, or by calling 07948 532539. Prices will depend on numbers travelling, and departure details will be announced closer to the date of the game.

Let’s get our first supporters bus since March 2020 running to Links Park!
