WITH our 2021/22 season now completed, our three loan players have returned to their parent clubs with the best wishes of all at Dumbarton FC.
Kieran Wright, Carlo Pignatiello and Adam Hutchinson will return to Rangers, Livingston and Dundee United respectively after each making a contribution to our cause this season.
The details of their careers with Dumbarton are below. We wish all three of them every success in the future back at their parent clubs.
Manager Stevie Farrell will meet with the rest of the squad tonight to discuss prospects for next season. We will have details of the squad changes on the club website once these talks have been completed.
Kieran Wright
Kieran joined us on loan from Rangers in January and had been due to make his debut against East Fife in January only to sustain a late injury.
Instead he made his debut in a 1-1 draw away to Montrose in February, and went on to play 15 games for Dumbarton, keeping one clean sheet.
That was in a 0-0 draw at home to Montrose in March, a game where he saved a late penalty from Michael Gardyne, which is pictured above.
Carlo Pignatiello
Carlo returns to Livingston having won three player of the year awards, and having missed only two games, in the Premier Sports Cup at the start of the season.
In total, he turned out in a Dumbarton jersey 41 times, scoring twice. He is pictured celebrating his goal against Sauchie in November while he also scored at Peterhead in February.
His contribution was recognised by winning the awards for young player of the year, players’ player of the year, and Sons View player of the year.
Adam Hutchinson
Adam was signed from Dundee United to further boost his development after he spent the first part of the season on loan to Stirling University.
Like Kieran, he made his debut in a Dumbarton shirt in the draw at Montrose in February, coming on as a late substitute for Paul Paton.
In total, Adam played for Sons seven times. Unfortunately he sustained a dislocated shoulder against Clyde in his final game at the end of April. We wish him well in his recovery and, like our other loan players, a successful future in the game.
