PRE-MATCH hospitality guests at Dumbarton are used to being well entertained – but were served up something rather different yesterday.
Before Sons’ 2-1 victory over St Mirren, a chef emerged from the kitchen and undertook a karaoke-style version of The Proclaimers’ 500 Miles.
He was then silenced by a maitre d’ – before it was revealed that the pair were actually opera singers.
The duo then proceeded to serenade the guests with a more operatic number, receiving a positive reaction from the stunned crowd.
The performance was arranged by local businessman Keith Gibson as part of his wife’s birthday celebrations.
Sons director Alan Findlay, who filmed the performance, said: “It was certainly something different and a real treat for the guests on what has turned out to be our final pre-match hospitality of the season.
“With Britain’s Got Talent currently on air, the guys certainly could make Simon Cowell reach for the golden buzzer!
“We’d like to thank the guys for coming along and if you’re planning on doing hospitality next season then you never know – you might see it for yourself!”
Alan’s footage of the singers in action can be viewed HERE.
