MANAGER Stevie Farrell hailed the signings of Ryan Blair and Aron Lynas – and is now keen to add to the striking department of his squad as pre-season training looms.
With the squad set to link up again from Thursday, June 16, the two signings have boosted numbers to 15.
Stevie is hopeful that the two new recruits can make an impact, but is also aware of the need to add to the attacking element of his squad.
Speaking to dumbartonfootballclub.com, the manager said: “I just don’t think you are a player leaving Falkirk and going to play for Swansea City if you don’t have something about you as a player.
“Ryan is a good player with great experience down at Swansea, but since he came back he hasn’t really found a home where he has felt settled.
“Hopefully as a Dumbarton player, he can go and express himself, because he has the ability and he enjoys the environment we have got here.
“I just like Aron as a player. When I was managing Stranraer in cinch League Two the season before last, he was tough and aggressive.
“He can break things up for the opposition in the middle of the pitch and knows and understands the league.
“You have to be competitive and fight your corner, and he will do that. He doesn’t mind that side of the game and is a decent, solid right back.”
As well as needing to add another goalkeeper to the squad, Stevie now hopes that a striker can be next.
He added: “I am happy with where we are right now. We need another goalkeeper and then it is up to the top end of the pitch to strengthen.
“Strikers are always the hardest to come by because they are the most sought after and they cost the most.
“There are no promises, but we are in talks with a couple. We know where we are in the market place and we have to be respectful of that.
“If we could add in that department, I would be happy with what we have built.”
