SONS boss Stevie Aitken received the Ladbrokes Championship manager of the month for December at the CID Stadium today and was keen to spread the recognition amongst his players and staff.
“It’s a great honour to get the trophy, but it really is a team effort”, said Stevie.
“The players and staff have worked hard and it’s a deserved award for everyone.
“December was a good spell for us in the league and we showed that we can compete with the teams in the division.
“And as I said, the award is really a team effort.”
The boss though did though have praise for Mark Docherty, who scooped the individual player award for the Championship.
“Sparky’s head will now be too big to fit through the dressing room door and the lads will have a bit of fun with him.
“But all joking aside, Mark has done well, worked hard and he’s a good influence.”
