Dumbarton were 6-1 winners at Hebburn Town this afternoon, winning the Macron Cup in the final pre-season friendly ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Carlo Pignatiello got the scoring under way on 25 minutes before a Trialist poked home the second just after the half-hour and Amar Purewal pulled one back for the hosts just before the interval.

David Wilson scored from 40-yards on the hour after picking up on a poor kick and Michael Ruth bounced home a header five minutes later.

A clinical finish from Ruth was number five with Finlay Gray completing the scoring on 85 minutes.

The result earns Sons the Macron Cup as attention now turns to the start of the competitive action against East Kilbride in the Premier Sports Cup next Saturday.
