Dumbarton lost their first league game of the season against Montrose this afternoon.
An early goal from Kane Hester – the only shot on goal from the visitors all afternoon – was enough to earn all three points.
Sons peppered the Montrose goal throughout the remainder of the game but failed to find an equalise.
Matty Shiels drilled one strike just wide whilst Michael Ruth was off target one on one and substitute Joel Mumbongo headed over.
Sons are back on the road next weekend when they visit Queen of the South.
