SONS SUFFER AT NDP

Tuesday 15th July 2014

SONS lost 3-1 to Premiership Hamilton Accies in an entertaining pre-season friendly at New Douglas Park tonight.

Despite the negative scoreline, there was much for manager Ian Murray to be pleased about in what was a keenly contested encounter.

Sons conceded first when Van Zanten needlessly gave away a penalty which Curier converted before a terrific Kirkpatrick strike brought Dumbarton level.

Curier prodded home in the second period following a stunning stop from Sons trialist keeper and he completed his hat-track on 75 mins with a terrific long range effort.

Dumbarton battled hard to get back into the game, but in the end Hamilton were comfortable winners.

Team : Trialist; V Zanten, Taggart, Graham, Linton; Kirkpatrick, Turner, Gilhaney, Megginson, Nish, Fleming. Subs – Lumsden, Trialist, McDougall, Trialist, Prunty, Murray, Trialist, McKerracher.
