DUMBARTON kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win against Brechin City in a closed door friendly in Glasgow tonight.

Second half goals from new boys Garry Fleming and Jim Lister cancelled out City’s first half lead giving Sons the perfect start to the series of 3- games that will be played outwith public view.

Manager Alan Adamson commented : “It’s was good to get back to football and whilst these type of matches are hard to properly assess, we did well in difficult conditions.

“Garry and Jim took their goals well and we are a wee bit disappointed at how we lost the opening goal, but overall there are no complaints.”

Dumbarton started the game using the following line-up – Grindlay, Lyden, Creaney, Graham, McNiff, Gilhaney, Johnston, Trialist, Prunty, Agnew, Mcdougall

Second hallf subs included Fleming, Thomson, Horne and Lister.

Ross Forsyth and Alan Lithgow were all sidelined with niggling injuries.
