Dumbarton confirmed their place in the top four of cinch League Two with a 1-0 win over Clyde.

In an afternoon where the conditions had their say, the visitors came close to an opener when a header had to be cleared off the line whilst at the other end a low strike from Jinky Hilton was kept out.

After the break, Carlo Pignatiello dragged an effort off before Hilton fired in the only goal of the afternoon with a free-kick on 73 minutes.

Results elsewhere ensured three points was enough to secure their spot in the cinch League One play-offs with three games remaining.

Dumbarton travel to Stranraer next weekend.
