SONS are hosts to the Lions of Livingston this weekend, in what will be a vital encounter for Stevie Aitken’s team.
The West Lothian side are three points behind Dumbarton and have played one game more, so the significance of the game is on the manager’s mind.
He said : “If we win, we take another three point advantage over Livingston plus it gets us closer to Morton who are we targetting.
“We played well enough last week at Starks Park which is a difficult place for teams to pick up points and to keep a clean sheet was pleasing, especially for Jamie Ewings who responded well to coming into the team.
“Livi have strenghtened during the week as have we, so as usual we are all looking forward to the game.”
The boss added: “We are hopefully going to be in a position to announce an addition before we go into this game.”
There will be a minute’s silence before kick-off in remembrance of our friend and colleague, Gilbert Lawrie, who dies the week before last.
The last five meetings between the two sides have ended as follows: 19/12/2015 – Livingston 1 – 1 Dumbarton, 03/10/2015 – Dumbarton 2 – 1 Livingston, 21/03/2015 – Livingston 1 – 2 Dumbarton, 24/01/2015 – Dumbarton 1 – 5 Livingston, and 15/11/2014 – Livingston 1 – 2 Dumbarton.
Match sponsor Waterson MacPherson and match ball sponsor DS Marine Group Ltd are joining our other guests for pre-game hospitality.
In team news, Tom Walsh (pictured) is in line to make his home debut plus new signing Kler Heh is added to the squad subject to clearance being given. Skipper Darren Barr is free from suspension and is available.
Copies of our full-colour matchday magazine the ‘Sons View’ (produced by the Sons Supporters Trust) will be on sale this weekend again, priced £2.50. This issue naturally includes a range of tributes to former chief executive Gilbert Lawrie.
