The William Hill Scottish Cup third round tie between Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic and Dumbarton takes place on Saturday at New Dundas Park, kick-off at 1.30pm.
The East Super League Champions will provide a tricky tie for Sons, with the carrot for both teams being in the fourth round draw and the entry to the competition of the Premiership clubs.
“We’re ready for the game tomorrow,” said Dumbarton boss Stevie Aitken hard of the game. “It’s going to be a proper cup-tie and we expect Bonnyrigg to come at us.”
Incidentally, did you know that Sean Connery once played for Bonnyrigg Rose? No? You do now.
This weekend’s match referee is Stephen Finnie. Mr Finnie was in charge of Sons 1-1 draw against St Mirren earlier this season and has in 10 games handed out 40 yellow-cards and one red. Alan Mulvanny and David McKniff will be assistants on the day.
In team news, on-loan full-back Daniel Harvie will not play in this match, as parent club Aberdeen FC do not want him cup-tied. And while Joe Thomson could play, the Celtic youngster is out due to injury.
Sam Stanton should be available. Frazer Wright joins Grant Gallagher on the sidelines with both players out of action.
