DUMBARTON were a little unfortunate to lose 1-0 to full-time Raith Rovers at the end of a lively game at the C&G Systems Stadium this afternoon.
The goalless first half exchanges were fairly even, with Sons creating several decent half chances – but also running their luck at the back as Raith increasingly pressed forward.
After the break the hard-fought tussle continued. But on 79 minutes, with both sides struggling to find a way through, Grant Anderson broke Dumbarton’s resistance, smoothly converting a ball over the top to give Rovers the game.
It was a tough outcome after a sturdy Sons performance overall. Next up for Dumbarton in SPFL League One is an away trip to take on Falkirk.
