SONS MOVE SUITS KEV!

Wednesday 3rd June 2015

KEVIN Cawley’s day job is that of a sales executive with a well known Glasgow men’s outfitters, and his move to the Sons ‘suits’ him down to the ground.

Speaking after signing a one season contract at the Dumbarton Football Stadium this afternoon, the former Celtic youth player confesses he needed a change of scene.

“I was four years at Alloa and I loved my time there”, said Kevin.

“But I needed a new challenge and I think I’ll be able to help Dumbarton push on, so when I knew that the gaffer was interested in signing me, I was happy to come to the Sons.

“I set myself targets and I’d like to score goals at Dumbarton plus help the club finish higher than we did last season.

“Being involved in the relegation play-offs whilst exciting is something we want to avoid.

“Players always want to take on new challenges and at Dumbarton I think I’ll get that extra motivation.”

And the 26-year old know that playing for the two Stephens – Aitken and Farrell – will be a boost for him.

“I know the gaffer from my time at Ayr when I was loaned to Stranraer and the boss has done well. I’m going to learn a lot in the season ahead.”

Assistant manager Farrell added : “We’ve known about Kevin’s abilities for a long time and he’ll be good at Dumbarton.”
