DUMBARTON could n’o give asstistant manager Stephen Farrell a winning farewell this afternoon as Queen of the South won 2-1 at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
Christian Nade brought Sons back into the game on the hour mark after going behind to a first period strike from Queens on-loan Motherwell midfielder Dom Thomas.
But the Palmerston star scored again on 68 minutes to eventually give the Doonhamers a win that puts them seven points ahead of Dumbarton in the Ladbrokes Championship.
It was a disappointing end to the game which had started well for Sons, and it is a tricky trip to Starks Park next Saturday facing Stevie Aitken’s men after three losses.
