FOLLOWING a two-week break, Sons are back in SPFL Championship action when they travel to play Petrofac Training Cup finalists Alloa Athletic.
Dumbarton manager Ian Murray has been keen to get playing again after the break.
He said: “We gave the players last weekend off whereas we would normally have had a training session. Time to re-charge the batteries.
“The build up to the Alloa match has been positive though we will need to be wary of how they will react to their midweek win against Rangers.
“They will undoubtedly be on a high. If we win, we push six points clear of Alloa and that is a good incentive going into the game.”
Just three days after Wednesday’s Petrofac Training Cup win over Rangers, Alloa will be looking to continue their good fortune against the Sons.
Dumbarton though are unbeaten in thirteen outings against the Wasps and Ian Murray will be keen for that run to be extended.
