DUMBARTON stormed to a convincing 3-1 win against Cowdenbeath at Central Park this afternoon.
In a game where Sons dominated for all but the first quarter hour of the second half, the margin of victory could easily have been greater.
Colin Nish opened the scoring for Dumbarton with a well-taken goal just after the half hour, when several other chances had already gone begging.
Following the break Cowden came back into the game and pulled a goal back through Craig Sutherland.
But then Lee Mair headed the visitors back in front before Garry Fleming (pictured) slammed in a third in spectacular fashion to put the match beyond doubt.
Next up for Sons is a trip to Ibrox in a week’s time to face Rangers. It promises to be an enticing encounter.
