AFTER a difficult start, Dumbarton ended up enjoying the long trip north this afternoon, with Jim Duffy’s determined side coming back from two first half goals to beat Peterhead 3-2.
The hosts struck first when Fraser turned and slotted past keeper Conor Brennan for 1-0, despite a touch from the Sons goalie.
It got worse for Dumbarton on 36 minutes, as Brown headed in from a corner to make it 2-0 to Peterhead.
However, there was hope for the visitors just before half time, when PJ Crossan skipped past his man and delivered a low cross for Ruaridh Langan to fire high into the net.
After the break Sons pushed back hard. They were rewarded on 69 minutes when the ball broke for Crossan, who responded with a great cut in and strike to curl the ball into the far corner to equalise at 2-2.
Seven minutes later the Dumbarton turnaround was complete, as striker Isaac Layne, who had a fine match, headed home for 3-2. His goal is pictured.
The vital three points give a big boost to Sons in their League One campaign, after a difficult to start to the season.
