A late goal from Chris Kane secured Dumbarton a home win over Livingston today.
The young striker who joined up at the Rock yesterday on loan from St Johnstone came on as a second-half sub for the ill Colin Nish and his goal lifts Sons off the bottom of the SPFL Championship.
A dull first half where both clubs struggled to create chances made way for a much livelier second period with Dumbarton edging it with the young striker’s well taken goal.
Manager Ian Murray, delighted by the win, was keen to emphasise that the result was down to team work.
He said: “Kano will get the plaudits from the supporters but the result was down to effort from all fourteen players used.
“It was a good win for us and we go into the international break in a better frame of mind.”
