SONS GEAR UP FOR NEXT CHALLENGE

Tuesday 9th July 2013

PREPARATIONS are continuing for Dumbarton’s next pre-season test, the match against newly promoted SPL side Partick Thistle at the Bet Butler Stadium this coming Saturday.

Central defender Andy Graham is receiving assessment following the knock here received against Civil Service Strollers two days ago. The big man had to go off after 70 minutes, following a tough challenge and a hamstring strain.

Young midfield trialist Jordan Kilpatrick, who has played with Hamilton Accies and Brechin City, is training with the Dumbarton squad again this week.

Scott Linton debuted for Sons in the second half of the recent 3-0 win in Edinburgh, and is hoping to continue to make his mark – as is returnee Martin McNiff.

Sons regulars Scott Agnew and Stephen Grindlay did not feature against Civil Service Strollers. However, they both trained before the match.

Mark Gilhaney has been on holiday but is hoped to be in the squad for the Thistle game.

Gaffer Ian Murray, his staff and players are working hard in order to be able to hit the competitive games in the new season running.
