Dumbarton were knocked out of the SPFL Trust Trophy after a 3-1 defeat against Kelty Hearts.
Sons missed a load of chances and easily could have been two or three goals ahead, but instead found themselves 2-0 down after 16 minutes after a brace from Botti Biabi.
Michael Ruth did pull one back before half-time to get his side back in it and whilst Sons controlled the second-half once again, Biabi completed his hat-trick in the final quarter of an hour to seal the tie.
Both sides finished with ten men after Jamie Walker and Ryan Wallace were both shown two yellow cards.
Dumbarton return to league action next week with a trip north to face Elgin City.
