Two second-half goals from Kalvin Orsi was enough for Dumbarton to pick up three points against Kelty Hearts this afternoon.
In an opening period that was ruined by conditions, Sons were on the back foot for most of the half but stood up defensively to keep the divisions top scorers at bay.
The second-half continued a similar theme until the game changed midway on 68 minutes when Kelty sub Scott Allan was shown a straight red card.
Sons made the visitors pay two minutes later when Orsi got his first will a well-taken strike from just inside the box as Kelty failed to clear their lines from a free-kick.
Ryan Blair came closest to adding a second with a free-kick and a corner just tipped over the bar.
Orsi sealed the game in the final minute with another sublime finish, finding the bottom corner with a drilled effort across goal.
Sons travel to Inverness for their first game of 2025 next weekend.
