Dumbarton scored twice in either half to record a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bonnyrigg Rose this afternoon.
Tony Wallace got Sons on their way with an early penalty after Matty Shiels was brought down before Finlay Gray doubled the lead on 26 minutes.
Rose came flying out the traps after the break to look for a way back into the game but failed to seriously test Brett Long.
They were made to pay when Michael Ruth headed home after delightful work from Matty Shiels midway through the half, and the Sons full-back got his name on the score sheet just a couple of minutes later to cap off an impressive afternoon at the Rock.
Stevie Farrell’s side return to action next Saturday with a trip to East Fife.
