DFC Chairman Les Hope yesterday received a cheque for seven thousand pounds from the Sons Supporters Trust and thanked members of the Society for their hard work and donation.
The £7k contribution to the club is very welcome and Les said : “I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all the work and commitment from our supporters trust’s members for the donation received yesterday.
“On behalf of the club and the board I’d like to record our and my personal thanks for the cheque.
“I know how hard each person involved in the events day that raised the money worked and at the club we really do appreciate the contribution.
“Whatever we achieve at Dumbarton FC, we achieve together and the support that our fans give is simply tremendous.”
Les is pictured below with gaffer Stevie Aitken receiving the donation cheque from Sonstrust member David Ferguson. David was heavily involved with the organisation of the trust’s Play for the Sons day last month.
Unfortunately Gillie Brough, who dedicated much of her summer in bringing the events day together on 8th July had a family commitment and couldn’t’t attend yesterday’s game.
