SONS BOSS FOCUSED ON PROGRESS

Monday 28th September 2015

SONS’ boss Stevie Aitken is remaining positive and focused while preparing his squad for the crucial upcoming home game against Livingston on Saturday 3rd October.

The manager was disappointed at the narrow defeat to Raith Rovers this weekend, but he believes Dumbarton can now kick on in the second quarter of the Ladbrokes SPFL Championship campaign.

“If I was to use one word to describe the first quarter of the season, it would be ‘frustrating’, the gaffer told Sons View editor Graeme Robertson in an interview yesterday.

“Winning the first two games against Hibernian and St Mirren naturally saw expectation levels rocket.

“We haven’t matched that start, but there have been a number of games where I feel we should should have taken either something, or more, from the match.

“The international break will give us the chance to re-group, give players a few days off, and work on the few remaining knocks,” he concluded.

Aitken will be meeting and talking with fans in his first Sonstrust ‘Meet the Manager’ session next Saturday, before the Livingston game.

This takes place at 12.45pm in the Community Suite at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium on 3rd October.
