SONS BEATEN AT HOME

Dumbarton suffered their first home league defeat of the season against Peterhead this afternoon.

Sons had the better of the chances in the first-half but failed to make them count with Mark Durnan missing the pick of the chances.

Greig Young also suffered a bad injury for the home side and was stretchered off which caused for a lengthy delay.

After the break, Peterhead created a number of promising chances with Hamish Ritchie coming close on a number of occasions.

He finally made one count on 85 minutes, tapping home from Ryan McAllister’s pass across goal.

The result leaves Dumbarton fourth in League Two with Stranraer visiting the Rock next weekend.
