GREAT news for Sons fans! Ticket prices for Dumbarton FC will be reduced significantly for the 2018/19 season, as a way of saying ‘thank you’ to our loyal supporters and getting even more local people to back the Sons.
In response, the Club is asking supporters to help out by doing everything possible to increase season ticket sales ahead of the new campaign and to encourage even more friends and family to come along to the C&G Systems Stadium to support the team.
Details of how to get or renew your season ticket will be announced shortly. Tickets will be on sale in a week’s time.
Prices set out below (including reductions and new deals on the Walk-Up prices) are guaranteed whether Sons are in the Championship or pressing hard for promotion from League One – but right now ALL our efforts are on saying the the second tier of Scottish professional football, of course!
There is no ‘early bird’ price this time round… but that’s because ALL Standard price and Concession season tickets are being reduced by £20 to £250 and £140 respectively.
Full-Time Students will also pay £20 less (reduced to £140).The Parent-and-Child (Under-12) deal has also come down to £275, and there is a new Under-12 price of just £90.
Walk-Up prices are also being cut dramatically. Adult ticket will be £16 (down from £20), Concessions – OAPS, Students, 13-16 year olds – will be £10 (down from £14), Parent-and-Child Under-12 will be £20 (down from £30) and a new Under-12 price of £8 has been introduced.
Dumbarton FC’s new chairman, John Steele, said: “This is a really bold but carefully considered move by the DFC Board.
“We have listened to fans who have been saying prices are too high, and we have made really significant reductions. That means we must increase sales and raise money through events to cover the gap. We need everyone on board to help with that.
“It’s a sign of our belief in our supporters and Dumbarton’s future as a club that really benefits the community that we are taking this step.
“At present our aim is to be staying and fighting hard again in the Championship – and we hope this ticket news will be another boost ahead of Wednesday night’s crucial Championship Playoff Final first-leg against Alloa Athletic at Recreation Park.
“For a small, part-time team like Dumbarton to be competing at this level is incredible – and of course, it is also expensive. But we believe the solution is not to go piling on the costs, but to ask fans to get more family, friends, and neighbours on board the Sons express!”
Brian Payne, chairman of the Sonstrust, the cooperative which brings fans together for a voice and stakeholding in the club, said: “This is fantastic news for Sons fans. We are right behind the chairman and board in their bold and imaginative thinking about the future of our club, and we know that as fans we now have to put our money where our mouth is.
“We appreciate that these price cuts for 2018/19 will involve a significant financial hit for the club unless we can increase sales, improve our gates and raise money in other ways. We are fully committed to doing just that, and showing that when we stand together we can continue to make this club special, sustainable and successful.”
