SONS AND LICHTIES SHARE POINTS

DUMBARTON took a point from a 1-1 draw against Arbroath in a busy game at the C&G Systems Stadium this afternoon.

Michael Paton and Stuart Carswell has early chances for Sons, but it was the Lichties who eventually went in front on 26 minutes.

Bobby Linn cut in from the left and fired a powerful strike past Grant Adam to make it 1-0 for the visitors.

Dumbarton upped the tempo towards the end of the half, as a glancing header from Rory Loy bounced wide on 39 minutes.

After the break Sons continued to push for an equaliser, but with little in the way of chances. The visitors were also threatening on the break.

Dumbarton brought on Callum Gallagher, Ross Forbes and finally Andy Little between 67 and 81 minutes.

Carswell and Thomson coming close at the end, but it was Forbes who saved the day, pinging in a goal from 18 yards to give the home side a share of the points at 1-1.

Next up for Sons in their League One campaign is an away trip to take on Brechin City next weekend.
