SONS AND BINOS BATTLE TO A DRAW

Dumbarton and Stirling Albion shared the points in a goalless draw at The Rock this evening.

In an evenly matched first-half, Stirling came closest through ex-Sons man Robert Thomson when he headed over the bar from close range.

From a Dumbarton perspective, Kalvin Orsi and Aron Lynas were linking up well on the right-hand side and whilst they kept the Binos defence on alert, they failed to test Blair Currie between the posts.

After the interval, Kieran Moore fizzed a shot across goal after 75-minutes for the visitors in what was the first opportunity of note of the half.

Sons ended the game on a positive note but couldn’t find the net as Russell McLean could only glance a header into the goalkeepers arms and Declan Byrne had an effort held by Currie.

Attention for Stevie Farrell’s men now turns to the penultimate home match of the season on Saturday when East Fife are the visitors.
