SONS AIM TO CONTINUE ON THE PATH TO VICTORY

Saturday 30th March 2013

DUMBARTON manager Ian Murray and his squad are taking nothing for granted in two tough games against Hamilton Accies this afternoon and on Tuesday night.

But the team definitely hope to build on the momentum provided by impressive back-to-back wins over the past week, and fans travelling to New Douglas Park should witness two very determined encounters.

Sons fought back from two behind twice in their 4-3 win away at Dunfermline last weekend, before repeating the trick with a remarkable 4-2 win at the Bet Butler Stadium against Raith Rovers on Wednesday night.

The full match report from that high tempo affair, which saw Dumbarton storm to victory after seeming to have thrown the game away in the first 25 minutes, is now online.

Immediately after the Rovers game, Ian Murray declared: “We’ve scored eight goals in two games against very good sides and confidence is high. The task now is to go to New Douglas Park and take three points and go up another place in the table.

“We gave away a few chances against Raith, and it was disappointing to go two down. Overall it was a good performance, though.

“We have nothing to fear in these two games against Hamilton and the incentive is there, but we cannot afford to keep giving away leads like we have in the last two games.”
