ROBERT THOMSON spent more than 10 years on the books of Dundee United.
With that long a service, the Tannadice experience probably contributed to making him the player he is today.
And now he aims to show that – with the Arabs one of the clubs in opposition.
The big striker is already a fans’ favourite since signing from Brechin City – and the chance to play in the Championship is one he is relishing.
He said: “It will be nice to go back to Tannadice but many of the people from my day aren’t there any more.
“I joined Dundee United when I was about 11 years old and had many good times there, but I’m looking forward to going there in opposition.
“It’s going to be a competitive league, with a lot of good teams involved. There will never be a week when we look at it and say that we’ve got an easy game coming up.
“The games are going to be exciting for us. It doesn’t matter how much running about you do on the training pitch – it’s different when you’re out there on a Saturday.”
Robert has previously told the club website how his move means he is no longer a travelling man, having journeyed north to Brechin for home games. See this interview for more.
