IT hasn’t just been on the pitch, or in the boardroom, that Dumbarton have undergone changes during the 2017 close season.
In fact, you may already have noticed another change, in the form of the club’s new-look matchday magazine, Sons View.
Not that editor Graeme Robertson has any thoughts of stepping aside. After 26 years in charge of the publication, it’s firmly in the blood.
But the club has recruited Curtis Sport, renowned programme publishers with several senior Scottish and English clubs, as its new printer for the programme.
They replace J Thomson Printers (formerly Garthland), who have printed the club’s matchday magazine since 2014.
Curtis’ first two efforts have already been on sale, with the third edition available at tomorrow’s Championship opener against Morton.
And Graeme, as ever, is as excited by the challenge of producing the programme as the league campaign that lies ahead.
He said: “Since I took over as editor in 1991, Sons View has been part of my life.
“As a long-time collector of Dumbarton and Scotland programmes, and a long-term Dumbarton supporter, the chance to merge my two passions is something I love having.
“We’ve once again got a hard-working team behind the scenes at Sons View, and although the look of the publication is different, nothing changes in terms of the quality.
“It’s still the same quality publication, packed with news, reviews and features for that bit extra enjoyment on matchdays.
“Sales have been encouraging for the first two issues and, with some big away supports expected during the league season, we hope that this will continue.
“I’m especially looking forward to doing the first-ever edition for a home game against Inverness CT, which will take place on Saturday, September 23.
“I’d like to thank Garthland and J Thomson Printers, who have done the programme for us for the last three seasons prior to this one.
“The programme went from strength to strength with them as printers, and we very much appreciate the support they gave us.”
Pick up your copy of the new-look Sons View tomorrow – available at £2.50 from outlets throughout the stadium.
