SONS 24: NEW SIGNING IS KEEN TO IMPRESS

Thursday 4th August 2016

FOR Daniel Harvie, part of the attraction of the Championship is being able to line up against his team-mates.

The defender is on loan to Dumbarton from Aberdeen, with his move having been announced on Wednesday.

And the stand-out games for the 18-year-old are against Falkirk – because he’ll be up against a name familiar to himself and Sons.

Danny Rogers and Daniel are still team-mates with Aberdeen, but they’ll be up against each other at the Falkirk Stadium on Saturday, August 27.

Daniel said: “I spoke to Danny just before I signed. I told him I was going to Dumbarton and he told me it was a really good move and the boys are really good.

“But I’m looking forward to playing against him! There are quite a few boys out on loan to Championship clubs and I’m looking forward to playing them all.

“I am hopeful that playing for Dumbarton can help me get into Aberdeen’s first team plans.”

Although dropping down a division in search of first-team football, Daniel is looking forward to his experience at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.

And hailing from nearby Drumchapel, he has another reason to be pleased with his move.

He added: “It’s a good move for me and I’m looking forward to it.

“My agent spoke to me and said Dumbarton were interested in taking me until January and seeing how I got on.

“My immediate reaction was that I would love to go and get some first team experience and play at a good level of football.

“It also reduces my travelling, as I have been away from home for a couple of years. It’s good to be back for a bit.

“Hopefully Dumbarton can stay in the division this season, and win as many games as they can.”
