DAVID WILSON isn’t one to dwell on what has past.

The midfielder doesn’t want the recent Betfred Cup group to have any bearing on Dumbarton’s league campaign.

And he hopes that tomorrow’s game against Morton can be the start of the process of making the YOUR Radio 103FM Stadium a fortress.

The new signing from Partick Thistle feels that Sons can beat anybody on their own pitch – and aims to help them prove exactly that.

He told “I’m looking forward to it. The Betfred Cup wasn’t the best preparation for it but hopefully we can get the win against Morton.

“The cup was good to get our fitness up, because friendlies aren’t the best, but the results were disappointing and we’re now focusing on the league campaign.

“We can’t get our heads down about it. We have to make up for it by doing well in the Championship, starting from Saturday.

“We’re a good team with good players, so we know we can do well.

“We’ve a good chance on Saturday. Every game at home, we should be going out to win. We don’t want other teams coming here feeling confident.

“We should be the ones that are confident, and that goes for every home game.”

Despite the 3-0 reverse to Kilmarnock which finished the Betfred Cup section, David saw positives in the performance.

He’s been involved in every minute of action so far, but hopes that he can get a consistent partnership established in central midfield.

He added: “The move to Dumbarton has been a good one for me so far. I played every pre-season game, and every Betfred Cup game.

“Over the past season I’ve not really had much consistency of games, so it’s worked out positively to date.

“I’ve had a few partners in central midfield already, and Kyle Hutton can’t play in the first two league games.

“Hopefully Stuart Carswell can come back fit, although I’m not sure if he’ll be ready for Saturday.

“Last Saturday at Kilmarnock, we did really well first half. The opening goal came after a mistake, but we just need to learn from it.

“I should have scored at the end with my header which hit the post, but hopefully next time I’ll get a chance and I’ll put it away.”
