AN Andrew Clark second period double strike allied to Jordan Kirkpatrick’s first half goal secured a deserved victory for Sons development team at Airdrie last night.
After 40 mins of the game with virtually no action, the game burst into life with Kirkpatrick’s opening goal followed by an equaliser by the home side right on the half time whistle.
A few tactical changes saw Dumbarton gradually take control of the game and Clark’s quick-fire double midway through the half secured the win for a young Sons side.
Coach Colin Nish was obviously delighted with the victory.
He said: “We had to make a few changes to the team and we were missing Josh Lumsden due to illness and we drafted in players from the 17s.
“It’s a real confidence booster and getting the win was great.”
