SOCIAL EVENT UPDATES

Wednesday 12th August 2020

WE have an update on the three major fundraising social events which were originally placed in the calendar for the autumn/festive/winter period at Dumbarton FC.

Covid-19 restrictions have had a major impact on social events in recent months, with social gatherings unable to take place on the basis of health advice and restrictions.

Unfortunately, the St Andrew’s Day ceilidh, scheduled for the evening of Saturday, November 28, will now NOT take place.

We are very disappointed to have to reach this decision, but with the current restrictions and the concern for public health it would not have been possible to stage.

Many thanks and apologies to all those who would have supported this event, including the Willie Scott Ceilidh Band, who were booked to perform.

At present, there remains a hope that it might be possible to stage the Christmas Party night in some form on Friday, December 18 and the Sonstrust Burns Supper on Friday, January 29. However, this is pending on regulations regarding social gatherings.

In all instances we will be guided first and foremost by health issues regarding events like this.

We will therefore make a decision on each event later in the year, with plenty of notice. Once these decisions are made, we will communicate them via our club website and social media.

Due to the current uncertainty, we will not be taking bookings for either event right now. However, we invite supporters to pencil the dates into their diaries, as if they go ahead, they will raise important funds for DFC.

The Rock Comedy Club, which stages its events at the C&G Systems Stadium, also remains on hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Updates can be found at its Facebook page.

Many thanks for your continued support.
