RIGHT-BACK Sam Wardrop has completed a loan move to DFC from Dundee United for the rest of the 2019/20 season.
It will be the defender’s second spell with the club, having been on loan during season 2017/18 when his parent club was Celtic.
He played 27 games during that spell and scored one goal, the winner in a 2-1 victory over Inverness CT in September.
However, injury ruled him out of playing in the final of what is now the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup against the same club that season.
Manager Jim Duffy said: “Sam was a major success during his first season with the club and the aim is absolutely for him to replicate that now he is back here.
“We wanted to bring him back last season, also on loan, but he picked up an injury which put paid to the chances of that.
“He is raring to go for Dumbarton for a second time and we’re certain we’ll see some quality stuff from him over the remaining games of the season.”
Sam will wear the number 25 jersey, and is added to the squad for Saturday’s match away to Peterhead.
Sam is pictured signing his loan deal at training tonight.
