DUMBARTON have made experienced centre half Andy Dowie their first new signing of the close season, with the defender signing a one-year deal this afternoon.
The 34-year-old had been with Queen of the South since 2013 before leaving Palmerston Park at the end of the 2016/17 campaign after more than 140 games.
Prior to playing for the Doonhamers, he had been with Partick Thistle (two spells), Dunfermline Athletic, Ross County, Stranraer and Brechin City.
He made his senior debut with Rangers in 2002, coming on as a late sub in a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline Athletic in what was his only game for the Ibrox club.
