SFL clubs today voted to merge with the SPL to form a new unitary league in time for season 2013/14.
A minimum of 22 votes was required from the 29 clubs eligible to cast a vote — Rangers FC were ineligible as associate members of the SFL.
A meeting of all 42 senior clubs will now be called to formalise the new governing body in time for next term.
